2 . Define your ideation window
Use your competition’s weakness (your opportunity) and your customers spending habits to create a distinct ideation window (set of required product qualities) for your industrial team.
Rather than saying, “Hey team, what’s next? Give me the best you’ve got, something our customers will love,” you can say, “Hey team, here’s our ideation window. We need it to be w, x, y, & z. I want you to get outlandishly creative - just make sure has at least 3 of those 4 qualities.”
Ideation windows drastically improve speed and quality of work, because creativity loves constraint.
