4 . Prototype
Prototyping should be fast and iterative.
Phase 1: Basic size prototypes. This is a fast turn, paper/clay/fabric/3D printed model for size and shape only. Whatever material is fast and easy. These aren’t deeply detailed models - these are basic. Iterate once, maybe twice in this phase.
Phase 2: Rough and ready prototypes. This is much more visually ready, but not final quality. These prototypes are a similar material to your final product, though maybe not exact. Make multiple versions to refine design details, editing your design (ideally by simplification) with each version.
Phase 3: Content ready prototypes. This means visually and functionally final enough for photo and video content for pre-launch lead generation and testing.
